The Voice

“Singing is just necessary”, says Cassandra.

Countless concerts were performed into spools of thread, as she sang songs into the seams of every garment she designed. At least that’s where this songbird performed until the death of her younger brother Carl. “Carl’s passing from cancer at the young age of 38 taught me to live. I thought to myself, I could die without having faced the fear of performing live, which was something that had always been in my heart to do.”

Since Cassandra made the decison to grace the stage, she has become a sought after performer, bringing her wit and style to weave the standards of The Great American Songbook into her performances. One is reminded of velvet and silk as Cassandra’s voice permeates the room. She is a true vocal stylist using her life experiences and song to enlighten and entertain her audiences with the elegance of the greats, and an air all her own.

In 2011 Cassandra was honored by the Shepard Express with nominations in both the Female Vocalist of The Year and Jazz Artist of The Year categories.

From radio, to television, speaking engagements, and singing, Cassandra playfully says “I never met a Mic, I didn’t like!”
